My Story

We are proud to join the Birmingham Legal Walk 2022 to raise money for the Access to Justice Foundation's local branch; the Midland Legal Support Trust. The Foundation supports communities excluded from accessing justice by increasing the availability of vital free legal advice through grant making to the local charities that provide it.

Birmingham Peoples Centre is a charity which provides free employment law advice to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients all across Birmingham. We rely on grants from organisations such as the Access to Justice Foundation, client donations and funds raised from sponsored activities to keep our centre up and running. Our co-ordinator and solicitor was recently awarded the Pro Bono Award of the Year by the Birmingham Law Society, which demonstrated the importance of support we provide. We appreciate any sponsorship to help us reach our target!

The Access to Justice Foundation uses specialist expertise to work strategically across the UK to target and divert funds to those most in need and at risk. This funds interventions which break these cycles and improve people's lives. This means thousands of people across the country are diverted from crisis and keep a roof over their head, remain in paid employment, avoid mental health crisis, and experience positive life changes.

We invite supporters of access to justice to take part in our walk or a walk in their local area, and be a part of this crucial work.

The money raised will allow the Access to Justice Foundation to continue supporting free legal advice charities like ourselves to survive, thrive and continue improving lives.
